2010 The 2010 Kauai Marathon that will be aired nationally amongst regional sports networks is in the final stages of editing and almost ready for air. This years race was a great addition to the races that we have covered in the past. The 2010 Kauai Marathon showed it’s growth by boasting attendance from 47 of the 50 states, and over 10 different countries were represented as well in the race. There was a great grouping of elite marathoners that made the trip to this gorgeous destination marathon as well. JT Service, the defending champion was back to defend his crown, Michael Wardian from Virginia was in town and his expectations were very high, and the most anticipated runners in this years field were two Kenyans from Minnesota. Look for the show to begin airing in November on your regional sports network provider. We are very excited to see this show hit the networks!

Team JSP

JSP has just acquired a new 6×12 ft. production trailer. We are currently in the middle of outfitting the trailer with our gear including monitors, lighting equipment, electrical equipment, and all of the equipment that . JSP now has the ability to be a complete mobile production company. We are going to outfit the trailer with the capability of on-site editing, full grip truck, and on-site storage for our bigger projects. This trailer is the latest piece of equipment that is raising the bar for JSP in the Rocky Mountain Region. With all of our winter projects on location in the Mountains this will really help our work efficiency and productivity on location. We are very excited and can’t wait to show off our new PRODUCTION TRAILER!

(Brad Godfrey (left) and Mike Lee discuss Brad’s drive)

JSP is still working on a new TV race driver reality show. Last week, three JSP crew member got a chance to actually drive a couple of the cars used in the show’s pilot.  Brad Godfrey, Jesse Choe, and Doug Darling spent last Friday afternoon doing hot laps at Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR), under the strict supervision of  Mike Lee, owner operator of the track’s  SDS driving school, and Producer of the new tv series.(He’s also the winner of the 2000 American Indy Car Championships)  Lee first orientated the JSP crew, then strapped them into the race cars for more instruction and finally, JSP’s new Indy car driver wanna b’s were off.  Doug, (below) was first out on the track.

Once all were  underway, Jesse took an early off course excursion and ended up on the tracks service road,  Brad (6 foot plus) had some problems with getting settled into the cramped & narrow seat area of his race car, and Doug stalled out four times just trying to get out of the pits!  However, after the minor “rookie” problems were taken care of, the boys settled down and did quite well for their first foray in handling a real race car on a real race track.  No records were set, but everyone managed to put down some pretty fast times, they thought! Let’s just say speeds reached double what would be normal on the Interstate. All agreed, they now understand why race driver and performance driving schools exist. We’re sure Mr. Lee picked up three new students!  Plus, we’ll be doing  more video production work on and off the track concerning auto racing in the near future. So,stay tuned.

Hi All!

As some of you may know, JSP was founded back in the late 70′s after our CEO’s time as a professional skier for over 10 years on the pro-mogul tour. John had a vision of starting his own production company that would stem from his years of experience with skiing. With the winter months ahead all of us at JSP can’t wait and always love the winter months just because of our special connection to the Mountains. We have produced a myriad of winter sports films, tv shows, documentaries, and many more video related projects. The mountains have always been good to JSP and we love and have a niche in that winter sports market. When you think of the mountains and TV you should think of JSP!

Hi All !

Steer clear of the roads today because the JSP crew is getting to race actual race cars on a real Indy Track. With help from our partners at the Colorado Indy Driving School JSP’s crew got the opportunity to race some actual Indy cars at Pikes Peak International Raceway! This is a great privilege and reward for our staff for a great month of hard work and creativity. The reality show that JSP is working on (Speedway Driver’s Search/Indy Driving School ) is in production and is going to be a really fun and exciting show. Check back on Monday to make sure that the crew made it out alive at the track!

Shoot, Edit, Deliver

Posted: September 29, 2010 in Production Headlines

We had a customer come into the office today wanting to produce a new video for a product that he has just invented for the ski industry. His idea is remarkable and is going to be a huge success. I can’t say much about the product now, but just wait until you see the video! Any way, he came into our office today and was so impressed with our website and overall concept as a business. Our motto of “Shoot, Edit, and Deliver” really impressed our client. It made me think about how easy we need to make our process sound to our potential clients. They supply us with what they want and we take it from there. It’s as simple as telling us what to do and you won’t have to worry about anything until the project is done and is in your hand.  We have been in that process now for a couple of weeks with our latest show the 2010 Kauai Marathon. It was a great opportunity to get to go to the gorgeous island of Kauai and get to WORK! JSP was once again praised for its professionalism and effectiveness on the shoot. Keep reading back for more tidbits from the staff at JSP. We will be diving into more subjects on a weekly basis !

Well another busy summer is coming to an end for the JSP crew. We have been extremely busy with projects with the Denver Broncos and Champ Bailey, The Pikes Hill Climb, Race Colorado, Bike Colorado, Discover Mt. Evans, The Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions, CET Newsmakers, Airhead Water sports, and many more. We have had a very productive summer and we are looking forward to our last big production trip to Kauai, Hawaii in the first week of September. We will be filming on location on the island for the Kauai Marathon for the 2nd year now. It’s a great event that we started filming on the island of Maui for the first ten years of the event. Kauai has been a great new location for the race and all of the spectators watching the race. The entire crew is looking forward to the trip in beatiful Kauai !!!

JSP has been shooting throughout the year in partner with Comcast on a series called “Comcast News Makers”. This series will air on Comcast throughout the summer and is hosted by Beverly Weaver. Comcast is offering a free marketing opportunity to many nonprofit organizations around the state. This gives these great organizations the chance to spread the word about the services that they provide. This is a great way for Comcast and JSP to give back to the community to really help out some quality people and organizations. These shows will be airing on Comcast throughout the summer on CET.

JSP just rapped up shooting a product DVD for KwikTek AIRHEAD water sports. They supply everything fun and exciting that can be found in the water today. On this shoot we were shooting from the towers of wakeboard boats with our gyro stabilization system. Using this technology really provided us with some amazing and rare footage. We had two cameras on site, along with two high performance wakeboard boats.

JSP has just announced that we will be covering the Kauai Marathon in beautiful Kauai, Hawaii. The race will be held   on September 6th, 2009 and is accompanied by a myriad of fun activities and events. JSP will be covering the event from start to finish. This is the first year of this event being held in Kauai; previously JSP produced over ten years of marathon coverage on nearby Maui. JSP is very excited to be traveling to the Hawaiian Islands for another fun and exciting project. The footage captured here will be another great addition to HotStockFootage.com

JSP has just wrapped shooting and editing for the “Comcast Summer Series”. The series includes in depth shows about Colorado lifestyles titled: CLIMB! Colorado, FISH! Colorado, RAFT! Colorado, Colorado Extreme, and Denver Mint. Each of these shows takes a deeper look into local outdoor activities around Colorado and a deeper look into the Denver Mint.
